Classes and Workshops 2018/19

We have a range of sewing, patchwork and quilting classes for both the beginner and intermediate levels. Our small, friendly classes and workshops are held in our studio in Ilkley, West Yorkshire. We run weekly Wednesday classes and fortnightly classes on a Tuesday and Thursday. All levels welcome. There are limited places available so please contact us to discuss. See below for new beginners' class






New Beginners' Course Starting January 2019            Click to enquire
This seven-week course will introduce to you lots of different patchwork techniques and get you started on a beginner’s sampler quilt or table runner. It is suitable for beginners with little or no experience. You can expect to learn how to make blocks such as Log Cabin, Courthouse Steps, Shoo Fly, Sawtooth Star, Rail Fence and Crazy Patch. We will use the Quilt-As-You-Go method to quilt each block so that when you join it all together it is already quilted. Learn lots of little tips and tricks along the way to make your stitching the best it can be. Limited places so book early!

Appliqué Techniques                                               Click to enquire
There are so many ways to appliqué – but which is the best? Come along to this one-day workshop and try out a number of different techniques including: raw-edge fusible appliqué; turned edge hand appliqué; reverse appliqué. Use your new skills to make a small coaster or two in the method of your choice.

Easter Baskets                                                       Click to enquire
Dig out your pretty pastel fabrics and let me show you how to make some adorable little fabric baskets. They are quick and easy to make, so you should be able to complete several over the course of the workshop and then take them home to fill them with chocolatey treats for your loved ones!

Easter Decorations                                                 Click to enquire
Bunting, coasters and tiny embroidered eggs to hang in your home for Easter. Bring some pretty fabrics, felts, ribbons and a range of threads (machine and hand). There will be lots of little projects to try your hand at – come along and make as many as you can!

Free Machine Embroidery                                       Click to enquire
Learn how to use your sewing machine to draw and embellish simple appliqué and other designs. Make a small wall hanging using your new skills. This class will build your confidence in using your darning foot, including how to set the machine up so that you can stitch comfortably and accurately.
